Inserted sim card in Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 mini not detected

My Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini got a strange problem. Sometimes works but many times can't detect sim card, says 'Insert SIM card'. Though, I haven't removed the sim card. This come and go situation annoy me a lot. I must have to fix this. Do you have any suggestion to fix this?

Try that SIM to some other mobiles and some other SIM to your Xperia X10 Mini too. You may find the answer instantly, which is the culprit?

If both SIM and Xperia works well with other products then clean the SIM holder of Xperia and metallic part of the SIM and insert it again into Xperia. It should work without any problem.

If you have used your SIM card for many years, it might have a few scratches and your new phone cannot read it properly. Just go to your phone service provider and ask for a new one with the same number.
Just back up your contacts+numbers to transfer them to the new SIM card.

I've experienced this type of disturbance also with my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 MINI. But it was not so many times, several times though.
But, it is fine now after using pc companion's back up and restore features using my Sony Vaio laptop.

But, I think it's hardware and firmware has some conflicting issues. Sonymobile portal has so many problems listed for Sony Xperia. They should make us believe that their products are good enough to use. Remember their slogan, "make.believe" They should've remember this.

I have some issues in my sony ericsson xperia x10 mini handset.Issue is that, If I insert the idea SIM Card and turn on the phone, my phone will automaticly shut down when i go for unlock option. And if I just turned it on without any SIM Card inserted, it will look fine but, when i inserted other sim card like Vodafone, air tel etc my phone will work normally.
Please tell me if anyone has the idea how to solve this issue.
